What
can a Web site do for you?
An
effective Web site can: - act
as a dynamic marketing tool
- increase
positive exposure for your business - people can view what you have to offer 24/7
- set
the tone for your business and lend credibility
- allow
for more interaction with clients and build relationships
What
is an EFFECTIVE Web Site? Web
site development process - Initial
Consultation
- This first meeting is free of charge. We will talk about your business and your
goals. I will ask questions to get to know your company and what is unique about
its products or services. We will work together to determine the best approach
to meet your goals.
- Proposal
- Next, I will provide a detailed written proposal reviewing what we talked about
in our initial consultation. In addition, the proposal will also include such
things as how the Web site will be done, information I will need from you, an
estimate of how much it will cost and how long it will take. Because every site
is "custom-made" based on consultation with my clients, the actual cost
and time frame varies for each project. After reviewing the proposal, you make
the decision whether or not go ahead with the project.
- Contract
- I will also provide you with a contract and fee schedule along with the proposal.
Should you choose to work with me, the first payment equal to one half of the
total is due when the contract is signed. The time frame for completing the Web
site starts when I have 100% of your information.
- Web
site construction
- After approval of the proposal and contract, I will "build" your Web
site. I will create individual pages and apply the graphic look and feel. Your
input is very important throughout the entire process! You will need to be available
for review, approval and changes. Upon completion the site will be tested including
final proofreading, link checking and continuity checking .
- Going
"Live"
- After final approval and receipt of final payment of the fee schedule, your
Web site will be uploaded and made fully functional on the Internet. As part of
the Web Design package, I will also personally submit your site to the most popular
search engines.

My
background: I
have a Business background and an Art
background... I
have many years experience working in small business settings. Although
all businesses share some common concerns, each has a unique personality because
of its product or service and the people involved. I also have an art background
and I enjoy working in drawing, mixed media and collage in my spare time (what's
that?!) For me, Web design is the perfect way to merge these experiences.

My
personal philosophy:
Browsing the Internet should be a rewarding experience. I approach Web design
from the perspective of how to make a site pleasing to the eye and portray a real
"feeling" of what the client's products and services have to offer.
At the same time, it must load quickly and be easy to navigate. Visitors to Web
sites are impatient. Too much time spent waiting for a page to load or trying
to figure out how to find information will lose visitors. That is not a good thing
for you or your business. A
favorite comment from one of my clients: "Why
would we want a Web site that looks like the rest of the pack and allows you to
eat your entire lunch while you wait for it to load." That about
sums it up for me! You
