Happy Mothers Day

woman at computerA Mother's Work is Never Done.

80% of mothers in the US who are online use the Internet to do chores and other activities, helping them save time every week.

Because of their busy schedules, many moms use the morning and evening as their Net time. 20% go online between 6 am and 8 am. However, most of their surfing is done when the kids have been put to bed: 55% of moms, both working and stay-at-home, log on from 8 pm to 10 pm; and 13% are on after midnight!

This time-saving trend is likely to increase, as moms indicated they would like to do even more of their "chores" online.

Here are some of the ways mothers use the Internet:

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms reading this newsletter!

"Mom, you're getting a Dell!"

retro glassesThis past weekend I helped my Mom pick out and buy a new computer online. This was a big step for her and I was happy to be part of it. I enjoyed helping her pick out the bells and whistles. She went along with my advice even when she didn't quite understand what something was for and even when I was not able to explain things very well. I didn't let on that sometimes I wasn't so sure either. A new twist on the phrase, "Because I said so!"

I think my Mom is fairly typical of the current senior experience online. Once seniors get online, they are just as enthusiastic as younger users. They typically adopt e-mail and information gathering immediately, but shy away from making purchases, banking or participating in online auctions. Mom likes to research a product online, but prefers to buy the product offline.

The online population of older Americans is steadily increasing. It is also changing. As the population ages, more people who regularly use the internet at work will be retiring. These users will be more comfortable using the Internet for "high trust" activities. They will be a force to be reckoned with.

New Web site completed...

Sometimes simple is best.

McClenathan Mobile Home Park is a long established mobile home community located in Fredonia, NY. They needed a simple online brochure to show that this clean, quiet community is a pleasant place to live. One important way to do this was to emphasize images that show the beautiful country-like setting and spacious homes and lots.

McClenathan Mobile Home Park works very hard to be the best mobile home community around!

Web site updated...

After the Art & Soul gift shop moved one door down from its previous location into a larger space inside the Market Street Art Center, they needed to update their Web site to announce the move and highlight new products and inventory.

Art & Soul features original artwork by local artists, glassware and pottery, handcrafted and unusual jewelry and many other unique items.

Check out the Web site, or better yet, check out the shop!
