 How to Register
a Domain Name

I discussed how to pick a domain name for your online business. The next step
is to register the name you have chosen. Below are a few guidelines to consider when
registering a domain name. 1. Use a legitimate, accredited domain
name registrar. I use Register.com and Network Solutions. Both
are trustworthy and reliable. If you have the time and inclination to do more
research, you can find a list of accredited registrars using the link below. 2. Cheaper is not necessarily better.
Customer service is also very important. I have also had excellent customer service
experiences with the above companies. 3. Make sure your domain name is registered in YOUR name so that you are the legal
owner of that domain. 4. I repeat - make sure your domain name
is registered in YOUR name so that you are the legal owner of that domain.
5. Don't let your name expire. Take
advantage of free auto renew services which renew your
name automatically if you forget. Also you can register
for multiple years. (You'll save money with a multi-year
